Heat is trio for three women accompanied by a pianist.  Exacting formalism and exhaustingly repeitive steps crack open the desire, competition, and love shared amongst New York dancers who sharee their lives in the studio. Featuring an original musical score, dramatic scenography, and archival fashion, Heat’s mis en scène evokes both a dusty basement dance studio in Times Square and Lucinda Child’s soho rehearsal loft. Whilst writing their own destinies, the dancers honor the vast choreographic legacies of New York City that have shaped their bodies and psyches.
